Consensus

Have your say

The debate and consensus session is an optional session open to all delegates. This interactive session will consist of a short debate on the chosen topic by our panel, taking opinions and commentary from the floor.  Following the debate, there will be an interactive questionnaire during which attendees will be invited to vote and answer, the results of which will be included in a paper intended for submission for publication.

All attendees who take part in this consensus will be included as a collaborative author in any subsequent papers arising as a result.*

This year's topic will be:

"Are medical students adequately prepared for a career in surgery during medical school?"

*Demographic data will be collected from attendees during online registration. By taking part in this session, you give us permission to use this data as part of an analysis of those surveyed, and the data collected during the consensus session. Data from individuals will be anonymised. Should we need to follow up to ascertain information about those taking part for authorship, you will be given 3 weeks to respond, should you fail to respond within that time, we reserve the right to remove you from the collaborative author list. Similarly on completion of the manuscript for submission to a journal, all collaborative authors will be given 3 weeks to approve the draft or make suggestions for improvement, should you fail to respond within that time we reserve the right to remove you from the collaborative author list.
